This work from the LOVE series explores the intoxicating and consuming nature of love. Using an iconic image from the film Léon, the piece captures a moment of intense focus and emotional tension between the two characters. The bold red word LOVE, layered over the monochrome cinematic image, contrasts passion with vulnerability, suggesting how love can heighten perception and emotion. The subtitle “is a drug” frames love as something addictive—capable of altering judgement, creating dependence, and drawing people into powerful emotional bonds. Through this juxtaposition of film imagery and vivid typography, the artwork reflects on love as a force that can both empower and destabilize, much like a powerful substance.
